Housing & Economic Opportunities, Inc. (HEO) is a non-profit organization that engages in several lines of business serving low income persons and communities in Camden, Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland, Cape May and Atlantic Counties in New Jersey .
Housing and Economic Opportunities, Inc., (HEO), a 501(c) (3) Nonprofit Corporation, founded in June of 1992. HEO is dedicated to helping low and moderate income families and or individuals find affordable housing and appropriate employment. It is our belief that affordable housing development and economic development go hand in hand. We believe that helping someone find a place to live, while very important, by it self is not enough. We must help that person find employment that will allow them to support themselves and their families, maintain their homes, and live with dignity.
We purchase and rehabilitate foreclosed and abandoned homes and then market those homes to low and moderate income families at an affordable price or rent. We offer Home Owner Education programs, long-term credit/budget counseling and home maintenance/repair education that fosters responsible home ownership, as well as protects the housing investment. We offer down payment and closing cost grants through Individual Development Accounts.
HEO received the designation of Community Housing
